Surfing the Waves with Albert Kekai

Surfing is a water sport. Surfers use long, big boards. These boards are called surfboards. Surfers swim out in the ocean with their surfboards. They wait for a wave. Then, they stand up on the surfboard. Finally, they ride the wave into the shore. They have to have very good balance!

Albert Kekai was a great surfer. Albert, also called Rabbit, was born in Hawaii. Rabbit was only 5 years old when he learned to surf. He spent every day by the ocean. He loved to be in the water. Rabbit practiced surfing all the time.

Rabbit created new surfing tricks! He won many surfing competitions. He also taught younger surfers how to surf.
