Turtles have hard shells that protect them. Crocodiles have hard bones to protect them. Long ago, some dinosaurs also had built-in protection. One of these dinosaurs is the Ankylosaurus.
The Ankylosaurus had bones all around its body. These bones were very hard. It also had spikes on its back. It had horns on its head. It even had shields for its eyes. This armor protected the Ankylosaurus.
The Ankylosaurus had a tail. This tail was very strong. It could hit other dinosaurs. This helped keep the Ankylosaurus safe!
